Please understand that this cost may vary as it depends on many different factors. Things like the size of the bathroom, the types of finishes you choose, and whether you are changing the layout will impact the price per square foot. For this average cost of $265/SQFT, we are assuming the following:

  • The bathroom size is average, about 50 - 70 SQFT.

  • The bathroom finishes are standard. Finishing touches include 12”x12” standard tile, a complete shower system, flooring, a prefab vanity with a countertop and sink, plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures, a sliding glass door, and a toilet.

  • The bathroom layout remains the same. This means that we aren’t moving any plumbing or doors, but rather upgrading the bathroom to its current layout.

If you want to choose nicer or more luxurious finishes or move walls and plumbing around in your bathroom remodel, you should expect the average price per square foot to increase. Generally speaking, the smaller the bathroom, the more expensive labor is per square foot.

  • Toilet (Water Closet): Needs 21" of space in front and a total width of 30". Must have at least 15" from the center of the toilet to any side wall or tub.
